BURN TIME
The first time you burn your candle allow it to burn until the whole top is liquid with wax. This will ensure your candle burns evenly the next time you light it. The large candles should not be left alight for long periods of time – the absolute maximum is 4 hours to avoid damage to the wax and wick.
THE WICK
Before lighting, trim the wick to roughly 1cm. It's really important to trim the wick after ever burn to prolong the life and health of your candle. By shortening the wick you allow the candle to burn more slowly and also avoid unsightly black smoke marks around the edge of the glass. Either use a wick trimmer or small scissors.
Use the metal lid provided to extinguish the flame rather than blowing it out so that smoke doesn't replace the scent of the candle.

SAFETY
Never leave a lit candle unattended. This is a fire risk. Always place your candle on a level, heat resistant, non-flammable surface away from fabric or drapes. Choose an area free from drafts to avoid uneven burning. Do not place your candle on a marble or glass surface. If the bottom of the hot candle glass comes in contact with a cold material, the glass may crack.
